AEMTECH Ltd. was established in 2013. The company’s main business activity is the manufacturing of machines, equipment, and individual components/spare parts according to customer specifications, under NACE code 28.92 – Manufacture of machinery for mining, quarrying, and construction**, which is eligible under the procedure. The main objective of the proposed project is to improve the company’s energy efficiency, thereby accelerating AEMTECH’s transition towards climate neutrality through reducing its carbon footprint and optimizing energy consumption. The project will be implemented in the town of Pernik, where the company’s production buildings are located. The existing building stock does not meet current standards for thermal efficiency. The building envelope elements are insufficiently insulated, which leads to significant heat losses during the winter and overheating during the summer, resulting in high heating and cooling costs. This directly affects the overall energy consumption and the efficiency of the working environment. Therefore, the applicant needs to implement energy efficiency measures, consisting of the installation of insulation systems made of sandwich panels for external walls and floors exposed to outdoor air. These measures will result in a substantial reduction in energy losses, **improved indoor micro climate, and compliance with regulatory requirements for energy efficiency. Currently, the company is significantly lagging behind in terms of decarbonization, carbon footprint reduction, and energy-efficient practices. By implementing the proposed project, AEMTECH Ltd. will achieve energy savings, reduce its carbon footprint, and enhance its long-term sustainability and resilience.
