Labtech Ltd. carries out wholesale trade in laboratory and analytical equipment, consumables, and equipment for continuous (online) measurement. The company owns a building that houses the offices of its employees and the service base for warranty and post-warranty service. The building has two floors, each with an area of 70 sq. m., and is located in the central part of Plovdiv. There is no external or internal insulation on the exterior walls of the building. At present, the walls comply with the heat transfer standards that were in force at the time of construction. The first floor is located directly on the ground surface and there is no insulation on the floor either. The flooring is only terracotta tiles. The building has three external doors, which are metal and old, as a result of which external temperatures easily penetrate inside the building. The planned investments are focused on highly efficient energy measures that will improve the energy and operational characteristics of the building. The following activities will be carried out: 1. Insulation with sandwich panels on the exterior walls - 176 square meters. 2. Installation of extruded polystyrene (XPS) thermal insulation boards on the first floor - 70 square meters. 3. Replacement of doors with solid exterior doors - 3 pieces, which will have very low heat transfer coefficients. The installation of sandwich panels on the exterior walls, XPS boards on the floor, and solid exterior doors will provide excellent thermal insulation for the building. The energy renovation of the building stock will improve energy efficiency and independence, reduce the company's operating costs, and increase its competitiveness. The new investments will contribute to extending the life cycle of the building and will ensure a better microclimate for the working environment. Reduced electricity consumption will contribute to mitigating the effects of climate change with a view to restoring and protecting ecosystems.
