Description

Megaboard Constructions Ltd. plans to implement a project for the construction of a photovoltaic power plant (PV system) with an installed capacity of 52 kW, combined with a decentralized hybrid energy storage system (BESS) with a capacity of 60 kWh. The system will be installed on the rooftop of the company’s production facility in Yana, Sofia Municipality, and will be used entirely for own consumption.

The company’s main activity is the production of metal structures – advertising billboards and mega boards, three-sided constructions, halls, and houses according to individual designs. The production process is energy-intensive and involves machines such as welding equipment, wire feeders, drilling machines, metal saws, and other tools, which result in significant electricity consumption. The company’s annual consumption amounts to approximately 50 MWh.

Through the implementation of this project, the company aims to:

* reduce electricity costs by covering over 90% of its consumption with renewable energy;
* increase its energy independence and limit the impact of market fluctuations;
* reduce its carbon footprint and contribute to the objectives of the European Green Deal and the “Fit for 55” package;
* enhance its competitiveness by introducing sustainable energy solutions.

The expected results of the project include: optimizing production costs, reducing greenhouse gas emissions, improving energy efficiency, and ensuring the company’s long-term sustainability. The implementation of the investment will provide a direct contribution to the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 – increasing energy efficiency and promoting the use of renewable energy for own consumption in Bulgarian enterprises.
