The project proposal of “LAZUR I KO” Ltd., a commercial company operating as a grocery supermarket in the town of Peshtera, aims to enhance energy efficiency and reduce dependence on conventional energy sources through the construction of a photovoltaic power plant (PV system) for self-consumption with an installed capacity of 60 kWp, as well as the implementation of additional local energy storage facilities (battery systems combined with inverters) integrated with the PV system built under the project. The main goal of the project is to provide sustainable and environmentally friendly electricity for powering the supermarket, thereby reducing current energy costs and the company’s carbon footprint. The PV system will be installed on the roof of the commercial building and will cover a significant portion of the store’s daytime electricity consumption. The generated energy will be primarily used to meet the needs of refrigeration and air-conditioning systems, lighting, and other electrical appliances essential for the supermarket’s daily operations. The energy storage system will allow for the accumulation of excess electricity generated during periods of high solar activity and its use during evening and nighttime hours when production decreases. This will optimize internal energy consumption, reduce peak loads, and ensure higher energy independence. The project aligns with national and European priorities for promoting the use of renewable energy sources and improving energy efficiency in small and medium-sized enterprises. Its implementation will lead to significant electricity savings, lower operating costs for the store, and improved business sustainability for “LAZUR I KO” Ltd. In addition to its environmental impact through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, the project will enhance the company’s competitiveness and serve as a good example of the application of green technologies in the retail sector.
