The implementation of the activities addresses PIMD Ltd.'s need for targeted investments in improving energy efficiency, which are key to the sustainable development of the enterprise. In this way are created prerequisites for long-term cost reduction and achieving higher competitiveness. The main objective of the present project proposal is to improve energy efficiency and promote the use of renewable energy sources (RES), thereby accelerating the transition to climate neutrality through reducing the carbon footprint, optimizing energy consumption, and increasing the share of RES in the energy mix. The project proposal foresees the implementation of the following activity: • Improving energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources in enterprises. The activity will be implemented through investments in the construction of a photovoltaic power plant for own consumption with a capacity of 80 kW, combined with local energy storage facilities (batteries). This will ensure greater energy independence and a lasting reduction of the company’s energy intensity. PIMD is part of the eligible target group under the procedure. The company is a micro enterprise, carrying out its main activity under NACE code 25.99. Manufacture of other metal products, which is characterized by high energy intensity according to NSI data. The expected results of the implementation of the investment are related to improving energy efficiency, which will contribute to increasing competitiveness and reducing the carbon footprint of PIMD EOOD's economic activities. The proposal is fully compliant with the “do no significant harm” principle, contributing to the green transition and supporting the achievement of national and European climate and energy goals.
