Description

The project of “OLYMP Protective Equipment” Ltd. is aimed at improving energy efficiency and promoting the use of renewable energy sources in the company’s production facility located in Sofia. The main activity of the company is the manufacture of work and protective clothing, a process that requires continuous operation of sewing machines, lighting systems, and air conditioning units, resulting in significant electricity consumption. The project’s objective is to optimize energy use, reduce the company’s carbon footprint, and achieve long-term improvements in sustainability and competitiveness.

Within the framework of the project, the following activities are planned:

Activity 1: Improvement of the building’s thermal insulation performance.
Installation of an external thermal insulation system on the façades is envisaged, including insulation panels, plaster, and finishing coating. The goal is to reduce heat losses and energy consumption for heating and cooling.

Activity 2: Replacement of existing windows and doors with new PVC and aluminum joinery with a high energy efficiency class.
The new joinery will help minimize air infiltration and improve the indoor microclimate in the production premises.

Activity 3: Installation of a photovoltaic system with battery energy storage.
A photovoltaic installation will be set up to generate electricity for self-consumption, accompanied by an energy storage battery to provide autonomy and optimize electricity costs.

Activity 4: Project management, information, and publicity.
Effective management, monitoring, and reporting of project activities will be ensured, along with implementation of all publicity and visualization requirements in line with the financing program’s rules.
