The main objective of the project proposal is the implementation of an initial investment for the acquisition of “Local energy storage facilities (batteries) in combination with inverter(s)”, which will be connected to the existing photovoltaic power plant at the enterprise. The energy generated by this plant is used exclusively for self-consumption. Through the project, energy efficiency will be improved, and the share of renewable energy used for the company’s own needs will be increased. This will contribute to reducing the carbon footprint and optimizing energy consumption in the company’s operations, thereby accelerating the transition of the enterprise towards climate neutrality. The acquisition of energy-efficient equipment and the use of renewable energy will support the enterprise in maintaining its competitiveness and continuing with its investment plans. The investment will comply with the requirements of the “Do No Significant Harm” principle, contributing to the ecological transition of the company’s operations and the horizontal principles in accordance with Article 9 of Regulation (EU) No. 2021/1060. Furthermore, the investment will contribute to the achievement of the overall cumulative target for energy savings for the period 2021–2030, as set out in the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria. It will also support the implementation of the Energy Union’s objectives for secure, sustainable, competitive, and affordable energy. The expected results include improved energy efficiency and increased use of renewable energy for the company’s own needs. These outcomes will contribute both to enhancing the competitiveness and reducing the energy intensity of the enterprise, as well as to the economy as a whole.
