SILVAR 2019 Ltd., operating in the restaurant sector, manages the establishment “Pizza-Bar Vodolei” in Varna, Asparuhovo. The site operates from 08:00 to 24:00, which results in intensive energy consumption for heating and domestic hot water. The existing aluminum window frames are worn out, with visible defects and compromised air tightness, causing significant heat losses, condensation, and discomfort for customers and staff. Heating and DHW are currently provided by old electric boilers, instantaneous water heaters, outdated air conditioning units and gas heaters, all characterized by low efficiency and high operating costs. The project aims to improve EE and to increase the share of renewable energy by installing three high-efficiency air-to-water heat pumps (2 for heating and 1 for DHW), introducing a solar thermal system with flat-plate collectors for water heating, and replacing 129.4 m² of worn-out window and door structures with energy-efficient transparent envelope elements. The target groups are the customers and employees of the establishment, who will benefit from improved thermal comfort, as well as the enterprise itself, which will reduce its energy costs and dependence on external suppliers. The project is designed to upgrade the energy performance and the share of renewable energy used by the restaurant through the purchase of: • 1 air-to-water heat pump, 12 kW, for domestic hot water; • 2 air-to-water heat pumps, 15 kW each, for full heating coverage of the establishment; • 1 solar thermal system for DHW (8 m² flat-plate collectors), also for domestic hot water; • 1 energy-efficient transparent envelope system (windows and doors) with a total area of 129.4 m². The expected outcomes: a substantial reduction in electricity and gas consumption, lower operating costs, more predictable expenses in the event of price fluctuations, improved indoor comfort for customers and staff, as well as increased competitiveness of the company.
