The project proposal is aimed at improving the energy efficiency of “MACHETE MG” Ltd. through the construction of a photovoltaic power plant (PVPP) with a capacity of 65 kW, and the purchase of two new air-cooled chillers (14 kW and 34 kW) for the company’s warehouse facility in the village of Prodanovtsi. The company operates the MACHETE MEXICAN GRILL restaurant in Sofia – a conceptual venue for modern street food with a Mexican twist. The electricity generated by the photovoltaic power plant under the project will be used exclusively for the company’s own consumption, related to its main economic activity – NACE 56.10 “Restaurants and mobile food service activities”. In the context of rising electricity prices and instability in energy markets, reducing energy costs has become a key factor for the long-term sustainability of MACHETE MG Ltd. Through the implementation of the project, the company will improve its energy efficiency in several key areas: - Significant reduction of current operating costs, by replacing purchased electricity with renewable energy produced on-site; - Increased energy autonomy and reduced dependence on external suppliers; - Improved product quality and safety, through stable temperature control and the elimination of risks related to raw material spoilage; - Improved working conditions and a better microclimate at the warehouse facility. The target group of the project is MACHETE MG Ltd., a micro enterprise aiming to modernize and optimize its energy efficiency, reduce its energy load, and achieve greater cost resilience. The project activities will be implemented at the company’s warehouse facility in the village of Prodanovtsi (Samokov region), in full compliance with the horizontal principles under Article 9 of Regulation (EU) No. 2021/1060, including adherence to the “Do No Significant Harm” (DNSH) principle to ensure no significant negative environmental impact.
