Description

ALUGEMA Ltd. is a manufacturing enterprise with main economic activity “Manufacture of tubes, hollow profiles and fittings for them.” The nature of the production processes involves high electricity consumption, which results in a strong dependence of the company on external energy sources and significant impact of fluctuations in electricity prices on the cost of production. In order to improve energy efficiency and achieve sustainable development, ALUGEMA Ltd. plans to implement a project including the construction of a photovoltaic power plant for self-consumption and the introduction of energy-efficient thermal insulation systems in the production and administrative buildings of the company. The planned measures will lead to a substantial reduction in energy consumption from external sources, limitation of greenhouse gas emissions, and achievement of significant savings in operating costs. The investment is fully in line with the requirements of the “do no significant harm” principle, as well as with the priorities of the Programme “Competitiveness and Innovations in Enterprises” 2021–2027, procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 “Energy efficiency and use of renewable energy sources in enterprises.” The implementation of the project will ensure long-term energy independence of the company, increase its competitiveness, optimize production processes and create a better working environment. In addition, the project will contribute directly to national and European goals for energy efficiency and climate neutrality, supporting the green transition of the industrial sector and the sustainable development of the Bulgarian economy.
