The project proposal of Khlebozavod Gabrovo Ltd. aims to improve the company’s energy efficiency and sustainability by implementing a renewable energy source for self-consumption. The investment includes the construction of a photovoltaic power plant (PV system) with an installed capacity of 70 kWp, combined with energy storage facilities (batteries with inverters), in accordance with the eligible activities under Group 16 of the Guidelines for Applicants under procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 “Energy Efficiency for SMEs.” The main objective of the project is to reduce electricity consumption from the external grid and decrease greenhouse gas emissions through the use of renewable energy. The system will ensure the production, storage, and efficient management of electricity required for the company’s production and auxiliary operations. The integrated battery system will allow accumulation and subsequent use of the generated electricity during non-sunlight hours, ensuring greater energy independence and stability of power supply for the production process. Khlebozavod Gabrovo Ltd. operates in the bread and bakery sector, characterized by high energy intensity due to the continuous use of ovens, mixers, conveyors, and refrigeration systems. By implementing the proposed measures, the company will achieve optimization of energy consumption, reduction of operational costs, and enhanced competitiveness. The implementation of the PV system with battery storage will result in: • Sustainable reduction of electricity costs; • Optimal utilization of self-generated green energy; • Improved environmental performance and contribution to the national and European climate neutrality targets.
