Description

BOSKO-R Ltd. is a company with two distinct business activities. Its primary activity is classified under code 14.13 – Manufacture of outerwear, excluding workwear, while the secondary activity falls under NKID code 56.10 – Restaurant and fast food services.

Although the garment manufacturing activity is the company’s main business, the energy consumption in the secondary activity is significant. The stoves used in the kitchen sector are major energy consumers. In some of the restaurant’s premises, heating is provided by gas burners, which has become inefficient due to the rising gas prices.

Excluding the summer season, the restaurant operates during hours typically associated with high electricity prices, partly due to the lack of energy supply from renewable sources on the market.

Given the current disruptions in the textile sector observed this year, along with the negative outlook for the industry, the management of BOSKO-R Ltd. is shifting its focus toward the secondary activity as a potential buffer against the short- and medium-term challenges in the garment industry.

In this context, there is a clear effort to improve the efficiency of the restaurant business by reducing fixed overhead costs – specifically, energy consumption – and thereby lowering the operating cost of the activity, which would lead to higher profitability.

To achieve this, BOSKO-R Ltd. plans to install a 22 kW rooftop photovoltaic power plant with battery storage, and to replace the inefficient gas heating system with three "air-to-air" heat pumps, each with a capacity of 10 kW.

This will reduce electricity expenses during peak hours by utilizing stored energy generated at other times and will also improve indoor comfort by replacing gas heating with more efficient heat pumps.
