Description

BIOSET LTD is a leading Bulgarian manufacturer of a wide range of home kitchen products in various sizes, distributed in retail chains in the country and exported to a number of countries in Europe, Australia and North America. The company has its own production and warehouse base, where the assembly, packaging and shipping processes are carried out. BIOSET LTD works in shifts, including night shifts, which leads to continuous consumption of electricity from packaging lines, ventilation and air conditioning systems, lighting and transport equipment. This makes the enterprise energy-intensive, highly dependent on price fluctuations in energy markets and defines energy efficiency as a key factor for competitiveness.
The current project envisages an expansion of the already existing photovoltaic power plant in the enterprise with a capacity of 120 kW by adding additional panels and 30 kW inverters, as well as the installation of a system of local energy storage facilities (batteries) with a capacity of 240 kWh and a power of 125 kW, integrated into the PV plant and the power supply of the base. The energy analysis carried out by experts in the field shows that such a battery capacity is sufficient to cover consumption during the hours with the highest electricity prices (7:00–9:00 and 19:00–22:00) and part of the night regime. The system will allow both charging from the FPP and from the grid during the hours with the lowest tariffs, which will ensure flexibility, effective load management (energy management) and reduction of peak costs.
The expected results of the project include increasing the use of energy from renewable sources for own needs; optimization of consumption through flexible storage and energy distribution; reduction of electricity costs and improvement of energy independence; contribution to reducing carbon emissions and sustainable development of the enterprise.
