The project proposal of OVIS-2005 EOOD envisages the construction of a photovoltaic power plant with an installed capacity of 24 kWp for the production of electricity for own consumption, combined with local energy storage facilities with a capacity of 28 kWh and an additional battery system with a capacity of 100 kWh, for the energy needs of the company's commercial facility in the city of Ruse. The company is engaged in non-specialized retail trade in food and beverages. The company is engaged in non-specialised retail trade in food and beverages. The specific nature of the commercial activity requires significant electricity consumption – around 100 000 kWh per year - mainly for continuously operating refrigeration equipment (display cases, freezers, cold rooms), lighting, air conditioning, heating, and auxiliary equipment. The current energy crisis and high electricity prices threaten profitability with limited opportunities to increase sales prices. The risk of food spoilage during power outages is critical. The planned photovoltaic system is expected to produce 30,000-32,000 kWh per year, which together with the existing PV 30 kW, will cover over 67% of electricity needs. The total battery capacity (128 kWh) is designed to provide 8-10 hours of autonomous operation of critical refrigeration equipment, full coverage of night-time consumption from accumulated daytime energy, and optimal use of the renewable energy produced throughout the seasonal cycle. The main benefits include: energy security and protection of goods from damage; coverage of 67-72% of energy needs; 85-90% utilization of the energy produced; stable costs and competitiveness; reduction of CO₂ emissions; long-term sustainability. The investment is fully in line with the objectives of the procedure to improve energy efficiency, increase the use of renewable energy, and transition to climate neutrality.
