Description

The project of EL Bulgaria Ltd., implemented in the village of Trud, Maritsa municipality, is aimed at improving the company’s energy efficiency and sustainability through the construction of a photovoltaic power plant (PV system) for self-consumption. The company has over 25 years of experience in the trade of lighting fixtures and electrical equipment and operates its own logistics and warehouse base, which requires constant energy resources for lighting, air conditioning, maintenance of storage systems, and IT equipment.

Given the rising electricity prices and the need for sustainable cost management, the company plans to construct a 30 kW photovoltaic installation designed entirely to meet the energy needs of its own facilities. The investment will be implemented on infrastructure that has been used long-term by the applicant and will include the installation of high-efficiency solar panels, inverters, battery storage systems, and auxiliary equipment ensuring reliable operation and monitoring of the system.

The main objective of the project is to increase the share of renewable energy in the company’s energy mix by reducing carbon emissions and dependence on electricity supplied from the grid. The expected results include a significant reduction in electricity costs, improvement of the company’s energy independence and resilience, and a direct contribution to the achievement of national and European goals for a green and sustainable economy.

The implementation of the project is fully aligned with the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 and will have a long-term positive effect on the competitiveness of EL Bulgaria Ltd., improving the company’s environmental profile and contributing to the transition towards climate neutrality.
