SMEs, of which the current candidate is a representative, plays important role in the development of the Bulgarian economy. They are a source of jobs, create additional added value and sustainable models, including those related to the environment protection and reducing the carbon footprint of their activities. In this regard, the implementation of targeted efforts to support the transition of SMEs to climate neutrality through the implementation of investments aimed at increasing energy efficiency and introducing renewable energy technologies into enterprises, becomes a mandatory factor on the path to their sustainable development and is a prerequisite for creating a competitive, low-carbon and sustainable economy. Support for energy-efficient technologies introduction and the use of renewable energy will help enterprises maintain their competitiveness. In support of the above, with this project the applicant intends to implement activities to improve its energy efficiency by making investments in energy-efficient insulation systems and the establishment of a photovoltaic power plant (PVPP), according to the eligible technologies specified in the "List of eligible asset categories in the field of energy efficiency and the use of energy from renewable sources" (Annex 4.1 to the Conditions for Application). As a result of the successful implementation of the project and the targeted support received, the applicant will start using renewable energy in its activities, improve its energy efficiency and optimizing the company's costs which will contribute to increasing the competitiveness and reducing the energy intensity of the enterprise. In a more global aspect, the investments made in improving energy efficiency will contribute to achieving the general cumulative target for energy savings for the period 2021-2030, set out in the Integrated Energy and Climate Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria.
