"M & M Travel" Ltd. is a well-established transport company in the Dupnitsa region, providing both passenger and freight transportation services, as well as trading in automotive fuels. The company's management is fully aware that under the conditions of the Green Deal, every business entity must strive to reduce its carbon footprint by adopting modern energy-saving technologies. In this regard, the company has developed a strategy to improve energy efficiency in the short- and medium-term. The program includes: reducing electricity consumption, improving the energy performance of the company's buildings, and replacing diesel-powered buses with electric buses. The first steps of the program have already been taken. Using its own funds, the company has built a 40 kW photovoltaic power plant for self-consumption. The purchase of the first electric buses is underway, with research being conducted into the experience of Bulgarian companies and close monitoring of market developments. An immediate priority for the company is the improvement of energy efficiency in one of its buildings. The company’s building stock was acquired as a result of a privatization deal during the state divestiture of a manufacturing enterprise. Not all buildings have been modernized yet, and some cannot be used in their current state. The subject of the current project is to improve the energy efficiency of one of the company’s buildings. The aim is to carry out construction and installation works for thermal and waterproof insulation of the roof, floor, and external walls of the building, which will house a vehicle service center and administrative offices. The planned work includes: insulation of the floor, ceiling, and external walls; replacement of all windows and doors (joinery). As a result of the project, an old building will be renovated and brought into full compliance with energy efficiency requirements for industrial buildings.
