Programme: Programme "Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises" 2021-2027

Planning region: All

Description

The project foresees the construction of a 55 kW photovoltaic system with battery storage for self-consumption at DIM Ltd., located at Sevlievo, “Zona Iztok” 10. The investment will cover part of the company’s daily base electrical load in its knitwear production facility and will reduce dependence on electricity purchased from the distribution grid. The storage system will enable peak shaving and the use of solar energy during hours of lower generation or outside the active production cycle.

General objective: to increase energy efficiency and production sustainability by reducing specific energy consumption and the carbon footprint, as well as optimizing electricity costs.
Specific objectives: (1) covering part of the consumption with renewable energy; (2) peak shaving and improving the utilization of the electrical infrastructure; (3) providing an energy buffer for critical consumers during short interruptions.

Main activities: design; delivery and installation of PV modules, inverters, mounting structures and protection equipment; delivery and integration of battery storage with a battery management system (BMS); connection “behind the meter” to the company’s LV grid; testing, commissioning, and staff training. The project does not envisage electricity generation for sale, but solely for covering the enterprise’s own needs.

Expected results: reduction of electricity purchased from the grid and related costs, lower CO₂ emissions, improved energy security and production resilience, thus supporting the competitiveness and long-term growth of DIM Ltd.
