Enigma Ltd. – Sofia is a Bulgarian trading company with over 25 years of experience in the import, packaging and distribution of fireworks, pyrotechnic products, Christmas lights and decorative lighting. The company's products are seasonal, and in the autumn-winter period (October – January) the base operates around the clock (24 hours), which leads to increased energy costs and frequent power outages. The project envisages the construction of a photovoltaic system with a capacity of 80 kW consisting of photovoltaic panels, hybrid inverters and batteries for energy storage with a capacity of 80 kWh. The electricity produced will be used solely for the applicant's own consumption. The selected configuration is sized for peak loads in the winter season, when intensive packaging, lighting and heating of warehouses are carried out and the site operates almost continuously. The photovoltaic system will produce about 80–82 MWh of green electricity per year, which will cover approximately 40–50% of annual consumption. The batteries will provide backup power in the event of a power outage and will allow the use of the stored energy in the evening when the load is at its highest. The project is expected to lead to a reduction in electricity costs of around 20-25% and a reduction in carbon emissions by 30-35 t CO₂ per year. The solution with four 20-kilowatt inverters was chosen due to the lack of more powerful hybrid models with UPS function and provides higher reliability and continuity of processes. The investment will improve the energy efficiency, independence and sustainability of Enigma Ltd. and will support the green transition of the company in accordance with the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 and the European Green Deal.
