The project proposal of "The Bakers" EOOD, an established manufacturer of bakery and confectionery products with a production base in the city of Shumen, provides for the delivery, installation and commissioning of a Photovoltaic Power Plant (PVPP) with a capacity of 250 kW for the production of electricity from a renewable source for its own consumption. The investment aims to ensure partial self-production of electricity from renewable sources, thus reducing the company's dependence on external power supply and unstable electricity prices. The introduction of the system will allow for optimal use of the energy produced, including during peak hours and during power outages, which is essential for uninterrupted production processes in the bakery. The implementation of the project will lead to a reduction in annual electricity costs, an increase in energy efficiency and a reduction in the company's carbon footprint by over 300 tons of CO₂ per year. In addition to the economic benefits, the project will also have a positive social and environmental impact – preserving jobs, increasing competitiveness and implementing sustainable production practices. The project is fully consistent with the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 “Energy efficiency and use of energy from renewable sources in enterprises”, contributing to achieving a greener, energy independent and sustainable industry in accordance with the European Green Deal and national priorities for decarbonization of the economy.
