Description

The project proposal envisages the construction of a photovoltaic power plant (PVPP) with a total capacity of 60 kW (AC), with an integrated local energy storage facility (battery) of 120 kWh as a component of the system, exclusively for self-consumption. The system is intended for the generation and storage of electricity with the objective of reducing energy dependence, limiting exposure to electricity price volatility, and improving operational resilience. The project thematically falls within sector I55.10 “Hotels and similar accommodation” under NACE 2008. The investment will be implemented and will directly serve the energy needs of the SPA area of Hotel “Druzhba” in Haskovo.

The most energy-intensive part of the activity is the operation of the SPA area—comprising a pool with hydromassage features, thermae, saunas and a steam bath—together with the associated systems for ventilation, dehumidification, control and lighting. These processes require significant amounts of electricity, especially during peak hours. By using solar energy combined with local storage, the load on the electricity distribution grid will be reduced and a stable power supply to the main consumers will be ensured.

The implementation of the project will contribute to reducing the carbon footprint and will support the efforts of ET “Stoycho Ganashev” towards sustainable and energy-efficient development in the context of rising electricity and natural gas prices. The project is consistent with the objectives of the procedure and aligns with the European Union’s priorities for green transition and climate neutrality.
