The project of IKARST Ltd. envisages the construction of a photovoltaic (PV) system for self-consumption at Restaurant “Flamingo” – a company-owned facility in the city of Vratsa. The investment includes delivery, installation and commissioning of PV panels with a 50 kW inverter and a battery storage unit, which will enable optimal use of the generated electricity and will increase the energy independence of the site. The PV system is of critical importance for the enterprise, as the restaurant operates with a large number of energy-intensive appliances: professional ovens and combi steamers, refrigeration and freezer chambers, air conditioning and ventilation systems, display fridges, bar equipment (coffee machines, juicers, ice makers), as well as a computer-based ordering system with POS terminals and kitchen printers. All these devices require high and continuous electricity consumption, forming a significant share of operating costs. The introduction of a PV system with a battery will significantly reduce energy dependency, lower expenses, and ensure greater reliability of daily operations. The main target group of the project is the company itself, which will benefit from lower energy costs and improved competitiveness. Employees and customers will also benefit indirectly from a more stable and reliable energy environment. Key activities under the project include: 1. Preparation and organization; 2. Delivery, installation and commissioning of PV panels, inverter and battery; 3. Testing, adjustment and launch; 4. Staff training and instructions; 5. Financial and technical reporting. Expected results include: Increase in the share of self-produced and consumed electricity – at least 30–40% of the restaurant’s current consumption to be covered by renewable energy; Reduction of electricity costs – expected decrease in monthly bills and stabilization of operating expenses, directly enhancing the competitiveness of the enterprise
