The project proposal of DENI – Nikolay Asenov 76 Ltd., a company with established experience in the production of bread, bakery, and fresh confectionery products, including Easter cakes (kozunak), rolls, croissants, and American-style doughnuts, aims to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in the production process through the construction of a photovoltaic power plant (PVPP) for self-consumption with an installed capacity of 80 kWp in the village Shemshevo. The main goal of the project is to ensure the use of clean and economically efficient electricity, covering a significant part of the company’s energy needs. The production activity is energy-intensive due to the continuous operation of ovens, mixers, cooling chambers, ventilation, and lighting systems. The construction of an in-house PVPP will enable the company to significantly reduce its dependence on the electricity grid and optimize production costs. The planned installation will include solar panels, inverters, batteries, and the necessary infrastructure, ensuring the stability and reliability of the energy system. The expected annual electricity generation is approximately 95,000–100,000 kWh, which will allow the enterprise to cover a large portion of its daily energy consumption, particularly during peak production periods. The implementation of the project will lead to a reduction of the company’s carbon footprint, an increase in energy independence, and an improvement in overall competitiveness. The initiative fully aligns with the priorities of the Programme “Competitiveness and Innovations in Enterprises” 2021–2027, under the procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 “Energy Efficiency and Use of Renewable Energy Sources in Enterprises”, supporting the transition toward a sustainable, low-carbon, and resource-efficient economy.
