PENTOP LTD is a furniture factory specializing in the production of kitchen furniture made of wood and panels, distinguished by quality and functionality. Its main activity according to KID-2008 is 31.02. The production workshop is located in the town of Varshets and is equipped with modern woodworking machines. The technological process includes cutting, milling, drying, varnishing, assembly and packaging, which is associated with significant energy consumption. Identified problems and needs: The main challenges facing the enterprise are related to the high costs of electricity, which represent a significant share of the cost of production. The production processes are energy-intensive and include woodworking machines, compressors, dryers, lighting and ventilation systems, which operate daily at full capacity. This leads to significant energy consumption and dependence on fluctuations in electricity prices. Project Objective: The main objective of the project is to improve the energy efficiency and sustainability of PENTOP LTD by implementing energy-efficient solutions and building Photovoltaic panels in combination with 140 kW inverters for own consumption. Planned activities: 1. Design, supply and installation of Photovoltaic panels in combination with 140 kW inverters. 2. Integration of the system with the internal power distribution network of the enterprise. 3. Testing, commissioning and training of personnel. Expected results and effects: • Electricity saved: approximately 160,000 kWh/year. • Reduced CO₂ emissions. • Reduction of energy consumption: approximately 35%. The investment will strengthen the competitiveness and image of PENTOP LTD as a responsible manufacturer applying green technologies. The project fully meets the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 – improving energy efficiency, reducing energy intensity and increasing the competitiveness of Bulgarian enterprises.
