This project entails the construction and commissioning of a rooftop photovoltaic power plant for own consumption at MINERAL 2009 EOOD’s base in Kostinbrod. The scope covers design, delivery, installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, and staff training for a system with 74 kW output active inverter power and battery storage, including all required structures, electrical equipment, and protective/measurement components. The installation will be placed on existing roofs owned by the company, without changing the buildings’ purpose. The technical configuration is tailored to a load profile with shifts and energy-intensive processes (e.g., dosing/mixing, internal logistics, compressors and pumps). The battery shifts daytime generation to evening operations, smooths peaks, and provides short-term resilience during power disturbances-critical for uninterrupted cycles. An energy-monitoring system and optimized charge/discharge modes will align operation with work schedules and seasonality, targeting a high self-consumption share and strong performance. The project will reduce grid purchases during active hours, stabilize the cost base, and improve cash-flow predictability, while lowering the carbon footprint and strengthening the company’s ESG profile-increasingly important to contractors and partners. Given completed and planned investments in modernizing equipment and management systems, grant support is a key enabler for deploying the integrated RES solution at optimal scale without compromising operational stability or incurring additional debt. The project fully aligns with procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 and PKIP 2021-2027 objectives: raising the share of RES for own consumption, reducing energy intensity, and improving environmental performance at MINERAL 2009 EOOD.
