The main objective of the project proposal is the implementation of an investment for the acquisition of “Heat Pumps” (Group 2 from Annex 4.1).Through the project, the company will reduce its carbon footprint and optimize energy consumption in its operations, thereby accelerating the transition of the enterprise towards climate neutrality. The heat pump heating system is characterized by durability, easy maintenance, and low operating costs. A heat pump functions on the same principle as air conditioners. Recently, heatpumps are considered the technology that will replace the majority of heating devices in thefuture, as heating costs are comparable to or even lower than those of natural gas heating. A heat pump can both cool and heat the environment it is designed to climatize. This provides three main advantages: energy savings, the comfort typical of underfloor and radiator heating, and the ability to use the device for both cooling and heating. The acquisition of energy-efficient equipment will help the enterprise to maintain its competitiveness and continue with its investment plans. The investment will comply with the requirements of the “Do No Significant Harm” principle, contributing to the ecological transition of the company’s operations and the horizontal principles in accordance with Article9 of Regulation (EU) No. 2021/1060. The investment will also contribute achieving the overall cumulative target for energy savings for the period 2021–2030, as set out in the Integrated National Energy and Climate Plan of the Republic of Bulgaria, and will support the implementation of the Energy Union’s objectives for secure, sustainable, competitive, and affordable energy. The expected results include increased energy efficiency, reduced energy costs and emissions, as well as an improved environmental image of the company.
