The current project will be implemented by "REX" Ltd. - a company that owns and manages the "Bulgaria" hotel in the city of Kardzhali. Due to the specifics of the activity and the need to ensure maximum comfort for customers (heating, cooling, domestic hot water, lighting), the energy component is a significant factor in forming the final price of overnight stays and "REX" Ltd. is faced with challenges related to high energy intensity, uncertainty of energy supplies and dynamics of electricity prices. To address these challenges and in accordance with the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 "Energy efficiency and use of energy from renewable sources in enterprises", the project envisages the implementation of investments under item 2 and item 15 of the List of eligible assets, namely: • Air-to-water heat pumps - 3 units, each with a unit capacity of 63 kW, for the needs of the hotel's heating and cooling system; • Local energy storage facility (battery) in combination with an inverter with a capacity of 80KWh, which will store energy from an available 110 KW photovoltaic plant, satisfying the hotel's own needs; The planned investments represent a comprehensive and mutually complementary system for energy transformation, efficiency and sustainable consumption. The project is fully compliant with the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004, with the principles of energy efficiency, sustainable development and green transformation of the Bulgarian economy. The investment will contribute both to improving the environmental and economic indicators of the enterprise, and to achieving the strategic priorities of the Program "Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises" 2021–2027. The total value of the investment is 197,545.92 leva, and the duration of the project is 12 months.
