With this project proposal, BOMED Ltd. applies for funding to realise an investment aimed at constructing a 1 photovoltaic power plant (PV) for its own needs. The system will consist of solar panels, an inverter (50kW), batteries–energy storage facilities, along with other structural components necessary for the construction of the PV, in response to the identified need for improving the company’s energy consumption efficiency. The main project activities will be carried out at a single location in the Vrabnitsa district, m. Mramor where the solar panels will be rooftop installed (roof approx. 300 sq.m) of the building used by BOMED for its administrative and warehouse operations. The facility supports the company's core business activities, which include the import, storage, and distribution of sensitive goods such as pet food, nutritional supplements, animal vaccines and treatments, probiotics, and other innovative products. The expected outcomes of the project implementation include: - established PV plant; - a significant reduction in electricity consumption from the external sources; - increased energy autonomy and long-term sustainability of the company’s operations, the warehouse & premises will maintain specific temperature conditions; - an enhanced corporate image. The successful implementation of the project will satisfy the following identified needs: - Ensuring year-round sustainability, independence and control of temperature conditions for stored products; - Significant reduction of electricity costs through the use of self-generated renewable solar energy from the PV; - Providing greater energy independence for the company and resilience to market fluctuations in electricity prices; - Reducing the company’s carbon footprint, also improved working conditions - better brand image; - Contributing to environmental protection, while achieving compliance with national and EU regulatory requirements for decarbonization and energy efficiency.
