Hamat Ltd. is a small enterprise, manufacturer of PVC-plastisol, rubber and silicone seals for caps for jars and bottles with various closures, intended for canned food and beverages. Currently, the technological park of the enterprise includes two production lines - one for the production of polyvinyl chloride seals, and the other for the production of rubber and silicone seals. The production process of seals from synthetic polymers and thermoplastic elastomers includes several energy-intensive operations - mixing, extrusion and molding at high temperatures, after which the material goes through phases of cooling, stabilization and hardening. In these processes, the temperature of the cooling water or liquid must be maintained within strictly defined limits (in the range of 8–12°C) in order to avoid defects such as uneven structure, cracks or deformations of the products. The available cooling units in the enterprise are morally and physically outdated, with a low efficiency and significant energy losses. They use old-generation compressors and do not allow adaptive control depending on the current production load, which leads to High specific electricity consumption per unit of production and Suboptimal heat exchange management, which affects the quality of finished products. The current project aims to meet these needs and constraints of the enterprise by implementing modern energy-efficient technological equipment, which will lead to a reduction in energy consumption and carbon footprint of production and to improve the energy efficiency of production processes in "Hamat" Ltd. The implementation of the project will help us to reduce the energy intensity, production costs and carbon footprint of the enterprise and improve our overall competitiveness as a company with a high standard of social responsibility.
