“Billiard Club” Ltd. is a sports, entertainment and bar complex located in the underpass of the National Palace of Culture (NDK), 1 Bulgaria Square, Sofia. The facility comprises two separate halls at the same address, with a total area of approximately 1,800 m². The club operates daily from 10:00 to 06:00 and offers around 30 billiard tables, dart and table football zones, multifunctional touch-screen game tables, and a cocktail bar. The main business activity falls under NACE 56.30 “Beverage serving activities.” Considering the specifics of the premises – large halls with intensive visitor flow and extended working hours – the company plans to implement a project aimed at improving energy efficiency through the installation of heat recovery ventilation units (4 × 4,000 m³/h, 4 pcs) and air-to-water heat pump systems (~39 kW/unit, 2 pcs). The heat recovery units will enable utilization of the thermal energy from the exhaust air for preconditioning the incoming fresh air, while the heat pumps will meet the heating and cooling demands of the building installation with high seasonal efficiency. The proposed solution is tailored to the operational load of both halls and aims to reduce energy consumption while ensuring a stable indoor microclimate for visitors and staff. Expected benefits of the investment: • Ensuring a stable indoor environment and constant supply of fresh air in the gaming and bar areas; • Improved comfort for visitors and staff, including during peak hours; • Reduced energy costs through recovery of waste heat/cool and high seasonal coefficient of performance (SCOP) of the heat pumps; • Increased operational reliability and the ability to control system performance according to the occupancy of the halls; • Contribution to the objectives of procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 by reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
