The project "Energy Efficiency and RES for a Hotel in the Village of Buynovo" aims to increase the energy independence, sustainability and competitiveness of the family hotel, owned by "LYUKO 2011" EOOD, by replacing the outdated wood heating with a highly efficient heat pump system and building a photovoltaic power plant for its own consumption. The hotel is located in the village of Buynovo, Borino Municipality, and is a small family-run accommodation facility with year-round operation. Currently, heating is provided by a boiler and wood-burning stoves, which requires constant human labor, generates high operating costs, particulate matter and carbon dioxide emissions, as well as a risk of uneven heating of the premises. The system is non-automated, uneconomical and does not contribute to achieving environmental standards and EU policies to reduce dependence on fossil and solid fuels. The project envisages the delivery and installation of a highly efficient air-to-water heat pump with a thermal capacity of 35 kW, providing centralized and automated heating and cooling, as well as the construction of a rooftop photovoltaic power plant (40 kWp) for the production of electricity, used entirely for the needs of the hotel. The investment will lead to: - elimination of heating with solid fuels and related emissions; - reduction of energy costs; - creation of a comfortable and safe working and leisure environment for staff and guests; - implementation of environmental technologies consistent with the principle of "energy efficiency first". The project is fully in line with the objectives of the Competitiveness and Innovation in Enterprises Programme 2021–2027 and procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004, aimed at energy efficiency and RES in SMEs.
