Mura 2001 Ltd. was founded in 2001 in the city of Vidin and has been engaged in furniture trade for more than 20 years. As a result of the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and the rising electricity costs, the company is facing serious economic difficulties. The high energy intensity of its activities (lighting of retail outlets and storage areas, air conditioning and climate maintenance) has a direct impact on the cost price of the offered products and the competitiveness of the company. To overcome these challenges and achieve long-term sustainability, an investment is needed in a photovoltaic system for own electricity generation, combined with a storage system. Main objectives: • Reducing electricity costs. • Achieving energy independence and cost predictability. • Improving sustainability and the company’s long-term competitiveness. Target Groups • The direct target group is the company through its employees, retail outlets and warehouse areas. • Indirect target groups: • Clients and partners – who will benefit from more competitive prices and a sustainably positioned business partner. • The local community and society as a whole – through reducing the carbon footprint and contributing to climate neutrality goals. Expected Results • Reduction of electricity costs by 40–50%. • Decrease in carbon emissions and improvement of the company’s environmental profile. • Enhanced competitiveness through sustainable business practices. Main Activities • Preparation of an energy audit and technical specification; selection of supplier. • Delivery and installation of the photovoltaic system; installation of energy storage batteries and integration with the company’s existing power distribution network. • Organization, coordination, and management of the project, including preparation of interim and final reports. • Information activities to promote sustainable energy use and ensure long-term operation and maintenance of the system.
