Sole Proprietorship "ARA-Rusanka Argirova" is the owner of a drinking establishment located in the central urban area of Shumen. The installed capacity of the electrical appliances at the site is approximately 15 kW. An analysis of current expenses shows that about 10% of the company's costs are for electricity, used mainly for air conditioning of the premises. The average monthly electricity consumption is 3–3.5 MWh, and the annual consumption is approximately 40 MWh. In the short term, the company plans to expand its offerings by introducing fast food options through the enlargement of the kitchen area and installation of new production equipment, such as stoves and refrigerators. Heating of the premises is currently provided by two old air conditioners, which are far from meeting the standards of modern energy-efficient heat pumps. The current project aims to improve the company’s energy efficiency through the construction and commissioning of a photovoltaic plant with batteries, with an installed capacity of 30 kW, and the replacement of the old inefficient air conditioners with new air-to-air units. Through the implementation of the project, the company will utilize the energy produced by the photovoltaic system and stored in batteries during peak consumption hours, when the energy prices on the free market are highest. Replacing the existing air conditioners with energy-efficient ones will also contribute to reduced energy consumption. As a result of this investment, the company expects to reduce its electricity costs by more than 70%, thereby lowering the carbon footprint of its core operations.
