Balkancar – ZPDEA G. Kostov AD is an established Bulgarian manufacturer of electric motors and electromechanical components with over six decades of history and traditions in the mechanical engineering and electrical industry. Over the years, the company has developed its technological base and expanded its production program, and today it specializes in the design and manufacture of small and medium-sized series of electric motors, fully consistent with the specific requirements and needs of the customer. The company operates with an activity code C27.11Production of electric motors, generators and transformers. which code falls into national priority sectors according to the National Strategy for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises 2021-2027 (NSMEP 2021-2027). The project envisages the construction of an air conditioning system for a separate production facility with a volume of about 6,500 m³, in which aluminum casting and processing facilities operate. These machines generate heat, fumes and fine particulate matter (PM), resulting in poor air quality and working conditions. At the moment, there is no ventilation or air conditioning in the room. In winter, heating is carried out with liquid fuel stoves and gas emitters, which are energy-intensive, inefficient and polluting, and in summer, the temperature exceeds the permissible norms, which leads to overheating of the equipment and a drop in productivity. The project envisages the installation of an air conditioning unit with a flow rate of 15,000 m³/h, which will provide ventilation, filtration and maintenance of an optimal temperature range (10–30°C) in the room. The new system will improve air quality and working conditions, while reducing energy consumption and harmful emissions compared to current heating methods. The implementation of the project will lead to energy-efficient operation of technological equipment, increased safety and a healthier production environment for the staff.
