“Malchankov” Ltd. carries out its main economic activity under NACE code 10.71 – “Manufacture of bread; manufacture of fresh pastry goods and cakes.” The company operates a confectionery workshop located in the town of Gotse Delchev and is one of the leading local producers of fresh confectionery products – cakes (including wedding, children’s, corporate cakes, and those with photo decoration/sugar paste), pastries, syrup-based desserts, cookies, savory snacks, and bakery goods. One of the company’s main challenges is coping with high operating costs and reducing the carbon footprint of its production processes. To address this issue, the project envisages the construction of a photovoltaic power plant (PVPP) for self-consumption and the installation of two heat pumps with a VRV (VRF) system, which will replace part of the conventional energy sources. The implementation of the investment will contribute to more efficient, environmentally friendly, and predictable energy supply for the company. The direct target group of the project consists of the company’s employees and management, who will benefit from lower energy costs and a more comfortable working environment, while the indirect target groups include clients and business partners, as well as the local community and the environment, through reduced CO₂ emissions. The project aims to increase the company’s energy efficiency and competitiveness. These objectives will be achieved through the procurement and commissioning of two heat pumps with a VRV (VRF) system and a 30 kW photovoltaic power plant (PVPP). The expected results of the project are to improve the company’s energy efficiency and sustainability, thereby enhancing its long-term competitiveness.
