Project proposal of “MM Mechanics” Ltd. aims to implement construction and installation works for thermal insulation of the roof above one of the main production facilities – “PBMO” workshop. The project objective is to reduce heat losses and energy consumption for heating and cooling, thus supporting the company’s transition towards climate neutrality and decreasing its carbon footprint. “MM Mechanics” Ltd., established in 2000, is a leading Bulgarian enterprise in the field of mechanical processing of components. In recent years, the company has been expanding its activities in high-pressure aluminum die casting, heat treatment, surface coating, and assembly operations. The production building, with a total area of over 10,000 m², was constructed more than 40 years ago. The roof and external walls lack thermal insulation, and the building does not comply with Ordinance No. 7 of 2004 on Energy Efficiency of Buildings. The energy costs for heating and cooling are more than three times higher compared to similar buildings with implemented energy efficiency measures. Project activities: 1. Implementation of energy efficiency measures through construction and installation works – application of 1,075 m² of thermal insulation on the roof above the “PBMO” workshop. The construction systems and materials will meet the requirements of the list of eligible assets. Expected results: 1. Improved indoor microclimate and reduced energy consumption for heating and cooling. 2. Increased competitiveness and reduced operating costs through lower electricity consumption. Target groups: 1. The enterprise, by enhancing its resource efficiency and reducing energy intensity. 2. Employees in the “PBMO” workshop, benefiting from improved working conditions and indoor environment.
