The overall objective of the project proposal is to enhance the energy efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainability of the production activities of Balkanprod Ltd. through the implementation of a 56 kW photovoltaic power plant for self-consumption. The realization of this investment will contribute to reducing the company’s carbon footprint, lowering energy costs, and accelerating the transition towards the use of renewable energy sources. The necessity for support under procedure BG16RFPR001-2.004 for Balkanprod Ltd. arises from the high energy intensity and continuous operation (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) of the production process, the volatile electricity prices, the requirements of European green transition policies, and the need for sustainable development. By implementing the project, Balkanprod Ltd. will achieve a significant improvement in its energy efficiency, reduction of its carbon footprint, and enhanced competitiveness, while also contributing to the achievement of national and European climate neutrality goals.
