ALPI COMERS Ltd. is a company operating in the Manufacturing sector (Section C), with a main economic activity under NACE code 10.82 – Manufacture of cocoa, chocolate and sugar confectionery, located in the South-Central Region of Bulgaria. The company’s production process is energy-intensive and includes activities such as mixing, molding, cooling, and packaging of finished products, which results in a high dependence on electricity to power machines, compressor systems, and heating equipment. In order to improve energy efficiency and achieve higher energy independence, the project proposal foresees an investment in energy-saving equipment and facilities for the production and storage of renewable energy. More specifically, the following activities will be implemented: Installation of 10 kW photovoltaic panels in combination with inverters, which will complement the already installed capacity of 90 kW, bringing the total system capacity to 100 kW; Procurement and commissioning of local energy storage facilities – batteries combined with inverters with a total capacity of 100 kWh, ensuring the accumulation and use of the generated energy during periods without sunlight; Purchase of a compressed air dryer with a compressor nominal power of 7.5 kW, which will optimize the operation of pneumatic systems and reduce energy losses; Replacement of the existing gas boiler with a high-efficiency water-to-water heat pump with a capacity of 17 kW, providing heating and cooling with minimal emissions and significantly lower energy consumption. The implementation of the project will result in: Improved energy efficiency and optimization of production processes; Increased share of renewable energy in the company’s energy mix; Reduction of the carbon footprint and operational costs; Enhanced competitiveness and sustainable development of ALPI KOMERS Ltd. through modernization and environmental transformation of production.
