The Project is located in "General Vladimir Vazov Str.", Pleven, Bulgarian. Commercial company "Punching Rays" EAD owns the real estate where the construction of the facility will take place. According to the Annex of Preliminary contract concluded between Punching Rays and ESO, the following capacities are foreseen: installed electric power - 10 MW and installed capacity - 40 MW/h, cable lines, direct optical connection to the telecommunication network of ESO EAD, respectively - SCADA/EMS, located in PI - 56722.658.10, city of Pleven, Pleven municipality, Pleven region. The project has been developed according to the requirements of the parameters for the provision of reserves for primary frequency regulation and/or automatic secondary frequency regulation and power exchanges provided in Procedure BG-RRP-4.0034 "National Renewable Energy Storage Infrastructure" (RESTORE), Annex 8 - Minimum Technical Requirements to the Conditions of Application for Procedure. For the purpose of the program, Punching Rays applied for grant funding in the amount of BGN 58 599.68 per 1 MW/h or a total of BGN 2 344 062.26. The purpose of the project is to support the country's energy system in moving towards a more balanced way of consuming electricity. The delivery of the electricity storage system and all components is planned for 2026. After delivery, cable routes, cable installation and earthing will be constructed. For the purpose of the project it is necessary to construct foundations for the placement of the electricity storage equipment. The exterior of the electrical energy storage facilities shall be weatherproof. The characteristics of the batteries are adapted to the topography and weather conditions at the location of the electrical energy storage facility. The project has been developed in compliance with all Bulgarian and EU laws.
