The objective of the reform is to support the effectiveness of healthcare provision by developing a plan to promote screening activities of health conditions and diseases throughout the territory of Bulgaria. The reform shall include the development and adoption of a National Plan for the Development of Comprehensive Prenatal and Neonatal Screening and Screening of Socio-Significant Diseases 2021-2027, which shall underpin the establishment of screening centres across the territory, including of a National Interdisciplinary Centre, foreseen under investment 7 ‘Development of outpatient care’. The implementation of the reform shall be completed by 31 March 2023.
