Programme: Recovery and Resilience Plan

The project "The Era of L'Europeo – 80 Years Since the Founding of the Legendary Magazine" is aimed at producing a documentary film and a complementary exhibition to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the magazine. The first part of the project will be the creation of a standard-length documentary film of 54 minutes, narrating the story of the magazine in a 4:1 ratio, focusing on its history in both Italy and Bulgaria. The film will explore the phenomenon of L'Europeo magazine on two levels. The first level will cover its role in Italy and Europe from 1945 to 1995 (the Arrigo Benedetti period) and from 2001 to 2009 (the Daniele Protti period). The second aspect of the film will focus on its extraordinary fate in Bulgaria, starting in 2008 and continuing to flourish to this day. The film will highlight iconic figures and the importance and nature of the events covered by the magazine over the years, as well as their impact in both Europe and Bulgaria. It will present the key differences in how the magazine thrived and influenced both countries. The film will also emphasize the vision of the magazine, with its unique and impactful graphic design, which will be supported by an accompanying exhibition. The exhibition will feature phototype posters of some of the most famous covers of both the Italian and Bulgarian editions from 1945 to the present. Twenty-four large posters will be created, showcasing archives of significant events and figures that have been covered in the magazine's issues over the years. The exhibits will include 16 panels dedicated to the Italian history of the magazine and 8 focusing on its Bulgarian history.
