Programme: Recovery and Resilience Plan

Kocherinovo Municipality is an eligible specific final recipient under this procedure and will apply under activity 2 - "Purchase of electric vehicles and associated charging stations for the purposes of providing social services".
The purpose of the envisaged investment is to increase the operational sustainability and efficiency of the social sector with an electric vehicle intended for the implementation of social activities on the territory of the municipality. This will contribute to improving the quality and scope of the services provided, while achieving a significant reduction in carbon emissions and realizing long-term savings in fuel and maintenance costs.
The electric vehicles envisaged for purchase meet the requirements of Regulation No. H-21 of 2023, which implements the provisions of Directive (EU) 2019/1161 on the promotion of clean and energy-efficient road vehicles into Bulgarian legislation. Thus, the investment is fully in line with national and European policies aimed at sustainable transport, including the REPowerEU Plan, the European Solar Strategy and the European Green Deal.
The Municipality of Kocherinovo provides social services of essential importance to the local community, including the “St. Ivan Rilski” Nursing Home, as well as the social service “Assistant Support”, activities delegated by the state. The existing transport provision of these services is limited and difficult, which limits the mobility of staff and the access of users to adequate care.
By purchasing electric vehicles and building the necessary charging infrastructure, the Municipality of Kocherinovo will ensure sustainability and better territorial coverage of social services, including in hard-to-reach and remote areas.
