Social isolation of people of different ages, as well as financial difficulties, are an obstacle for about 8% of the population of Byala Slatina to have access to a digital environment.
Our project is aimed at schoolchildren, students, working and unemployed people, as well as people of the third age who need access to digital tools and guidance on their use. It is aimed at developing skills, access to knowledge and supporting lifelong learning for 800 residents aged between 15 and 75.
Through the project, we aim to improve the access of target groups to the Internet and various digital tools. To achieve this goal, it is necessary to set up a room that will become a digital club, where people of different ages and ethnicities who do not have access to the Internet can use digital services and develop skills for using the digital space. The room that will serve to create the club has been renovated, but it will be necessary to equip 6 workstations - 6 desks, 6 ergonomic chairs, 3 desktop computers, 3 laptops, an interactive display with a stand, as well as air conditioning to ensure a better microclimate. The interactive display will allow us to conduct trainings of various types. Internet with the required speed will be provided by a local provider. We also plan to hire a mentor for an 8-hour workday, who will be responsible for the club, provide guidance to users and organize the trainings. The mentor will undergo training in working with the interactive display in order to be able to use it effectively in the work of the digital club. We will prepare advertising posts on social networks and advertising messages for local cable television. We will conduct awareness campaigns in the pensioners' club and the Disabled Club. We will place an information sign about the project on the community center building and produce 200 brochures with information about the digital club.
