Fishing is one of the most affordable and popular forms of tourism. Fishing tourism is looking for suitable development areas that provide easy access and are suitable for stays of at least a few days. The Burgas Lakes are among the popular and preferred due to their proximity to the big city and at the same time being far enough away from the worrisome urban environment. Mandra Dam offers these opportunities. The identification of the territory of the MIRG "Burgas - Kameno" as an area for fishing tourism is an idea in need of concrete actions, which the project proposal contains. The project concept includes research and analysis of the potential for sustainable use of its resources, ensuring constant monitoring of water quality and the state of biodiversity, researching the sustainability of the socio-economic parameters of the area and promoting fishing tourism at local, national and international levels. The implementation of the project will be aimed at: promotion of fishing tourism in harmony with the natural features of the territory of the "Burgas - Kameno" MIRG; organization of sports fishing competitions; development of touristic services and the corresponding facilities, which have a favorable impact on the environment; nurturing the cultural-historical heritage and the quality of life of the local communities. The project has added value not only for the implementation of the Strategy of MIRG "Burgas - Kameno", but also for the sustainable development of local communities, for effective economic development of the Burgas region. The project is aimed at local and regional authorities, local and regional communities, businesses in the tourism sector, fishing communities, representatives of sports circles and will involve over 500 participants and 1000 interested parties. It is the necessary response for a transition to ecologically sound social economic development in the context of the green transition and blue growth.
