The project envisions the preservation of the intangible cultural heritage of the village of Orehovitsa, woven into their traditional costumes.
Sets of men's and women's traditional costumes, typical for the village of Orehovitsa, as part of the Northern folklore region, will be purchased.
In the embroidery of the traditional costumes, there will be a stylized peony, which will represent the local vulnerable specie - red peony (Paeonia peregrina Mill.), growing within the boundaries of the Protected Area "Cholashki Orman" in the land of the village of Orehovitsa. Thus, together with the traditions of the local folklore, the local biodiversity will be preserved and presented.
The men's costumes purchased under the project will be used by the members of the "Otets Paisii 1910"  Community Center when organizing and holding events and holidays from the community center's cultural calendar - Christmas Eve, St. Jordan’s day/Epiphany etc. The women's costumes will be used for participation in municipal, national and international festivals.
The folk costumes will also be used when celebrating the traditional holiday of the village - "With Orehovitsa in our hearts".
The project satisfies the needs of the local population for participation in initiatives related to the preservation and promotion of local customs and traditions and the diversification of the cultural life of the population.
As a result of the project, added value will be given to the intangible cultural heritage and natural endowments of the village of Orehovitsa, by creating conditions for attracting guests to the territory of the LAG by celebrating holidays from the cultural calendar of the village, presenting local customs and the biodiversity of the area.
