Description
Preservation of the local tradition "Cheese zagovezni". The Easter Lent in the Plovdiv region, as elsewhere in the country, is celebrated on two consecutive Sundays and is called meat and cheese. The previous time from winter to spring connects the rituals with the coming revival of wildlife and the desire to influence the achievement of economic and family well-being. The most rich ritual is the "Cheese Sunday", which is celebrated with mummer's games. In the village of Parvenets the custom is traditionally celebrated and the National Chitalishte "Consciousness-1914" is the main engine of the celebration. This project will preserve the local cultural heritage and pass on the traditions of the younger generations. For the purposes of conducting the Sirni Zagovezni custom, the Chitalishte will buy 10 mummer's costumes.
