The project "Cinema for All" aims to increase the access of the Bulgarian audience to quality European film production by organizing film screenings with free admission of selected European films in some of the regional centers of the country. The initiative aims to cultivate in the audience a taste for quality cinema, to encourage critical thinking and to contribute to the cultural exchange between Bulgaria and other European countries. By providing an opportunity for a direct encounter with European cinema outside the capital, the project aims to expand the cultural horizons of Bulgarian viewers and stimulate their interest in a variety of film expressions.
The lack of access to quality European cinema outside the big cities, and in particular outside the capital, and the high prices of cinema tickets limit the opportunities of the Bulgarian audience to get acquainted with the diversity of European cinema. The oversaturation of film programs with mass productions often leads to passive consumption of content and makes it difficult for viewers to form critical thinking.
By offering selected European films, the project aims to instill in the audience a taste for quality film works and to stimulate them to seek more meaningful and diverse film experiences. Only by providing an opportunity for comparison between different film styles and genres can selectivity develop in the viewer and form a more demanding film culture.
The organization of free cinema screenings in the regional centers will allow a wider audience to get in touch with European cinema and discover new filmmakers and genres. This will contribute to bridging cultural differences and building a more cohesive European society.
Under the project, 3 film titles will be broadcast in 3 cities . All screenings will be free of charge and widely communicated in order to reach the widest possible audience. After the screenings, thematic discussions will be held.
