Students from multi-ethnic backgrounds attend Primary School “G. S. Rakovski”. We are endeavoring to raise the quality of education, to provide an appropriate educational environment for students from vulnerable groups. The intensification of aggression between the students does not bypass our school. Cases of verbal aggression between students from fifth to seventh grades are becoming more frequent. It is a matter of time before the verbal aggression turns into physical or psychological violence. We are planning to form a Mediation unit, which will organize thematic meetings and talks with psychologists, police officers and public figures. The goal is for students to recognize and control their emotions with the mind to decrease aggressive behavior. It is necessary for teachers and mediators to be trained on how to identify different types of harassment, react quickly when they see the first indications of a conflict, and use appropriate methods for de-escalating the problem. This is the reason behind choosing trainings with and without credit for the teachers and the mediator.
