In the current year 2026, the Institute of Electronics of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences is organizing the 24th International Conference and School of Quantum Electronics "Laser Physics and Applications", which will be held in Ravda, from September 21 to 25.
Over the years, this event has become the most significant youth event in the field of quantum electronics in the region and is aimed primarily at young scientists, doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows working in the field of laser physics. It is expected that most young specialists from institutes of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and universities, as well as foreign scientists, will participate. 
The topics of the school fall into 3 of the priority areas of the National Strategy for the Development of Scientific Research. The full texts of the reports will be published in the renowned publication - Journal of Physics: Conference Series.
The International School has established traditions in the creation and strengthening of international contacts of research groups from the country and abroad, which have turned into international projects, bilateral cooperation and exchange of scientists. The School is one of the main international events for all Bulgarian specialists working in the field of lasers and their applications in various scientific fields. Since the main goal of the School is to improve the qualifications of young scientists, the main task is to ensure the presence of leading specialists as lecturers.
The additional funding will allow us to maintain the high standards of the lectures and the quality of the published reports. We hope that the Selection Committee of the National Science Foundation will appreciate the merits of the School to this point, giving us the opportunity to maintain our leadership in this field and the good name built over the years.
