Description

Burgas Free University is a well-established organiser of scientific forums in Southeastern Bulgaria, distinguished by its strong international orientation. The conferences held to date have featured a substantial number of scholarly papers and presentations, with contributions from researchers representing Bulgarian and international universities across Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America. This has firmly positioned BFU as a sustainable, recognisable platform for academic dialogue and practical exchange.
The successful organisation of the 6th ICGSM further confirms the forum's strong international reputation. The event brought together more than 100 academics and practitioners from 12 countries spanning four continents. In the forthcoming edition of the conference, Universiti Teknologi MARA (Malaysia) will once again participate actively, building upon the long-standing and highly successful partnership between the two institutions.
The aim of the upcoming IC "Digital Twins for a Circular Future," is to establish an international platform for the discussion of digital twins as a strategic instrument for the transition toward a circular and sustainable economy. The conference focuses on the integration of digital technologies, strategic management, and the blue economy, while also fostering meaningful exchanges between the academic community and professional practice.
The conference aligns with BFU’s expanding international engagement through its participation in the European University Alliance EUNICoast. As a university with proven expertise in the fields of circular and blue economy, BFU leads Hub 2: Blue Circular Economy, Port Logistics, and Sustainable Blue Tourism. This positions the conference as a significant initiative fully aligned with European priorities for sustainable and digital transformation.
The working language of the conference is English, with international participants representing more than one quarter of all attendees.
